With A(I)doption I trace a route across the framework’s map. I organise the journey into maturity assessment, building foundations, use-case discovery and experimentation with transformation. I focus on cultural, organisational and business change: AI remains the means, not the end.

L'appendice precedente ci ha lasciati con una mappa concettuale che, per quanto curata, resta esattamente questo: una mappa. I quattro punti di impatto e contatto, i quattro domini funzionali, le sette tipologie di use case, la tripartizione degli strumenti, il paradigma Co-Intelligence vs Cybernetic Workforce: tutto questo descrive lo spazio di configurazione nel quale ogni organizzazione può posizionarsi, ma non dice ancora nulla su come si attraversa quello spazio e come si arriva alla configurazione desiderata. Questa appendice disegna sulla mappa la rotta (e per desiderio di brevità l'ortodromia) di questa traversata, e lo fa ribadendo una volta ancora che la tecnologia (e l'AI, quindi) è il mezzo e l'abilitatore di una trasformazione, non ne è il fine. Il fine è la trasformazione (culturale) organizzativa e di business, e l'AI è la leva attraverso la quale oggi si rende possibile in molti contesti, pur con molte cautele.

My note

This is the “chapter” translation of the method I have used, from the very beginning, in June 2023, to support companies on the path of transformation in the face of AI adoption. As with everything I do that has something “artistic” about it, the name of the object came first (and that habit of putting things in brackets has always been a bit of a stylistic signature of mine). I described this approach (like a good consultant, with the help of some very boring slides) at least 500 times before convincing myself to create a microsite (https://aidoption.rbovetti.com) and to direct the audience to that material before and after my talk.
